Turning first visits into regulars
The economics of a restaurant are decided by repeat visits, and most of that work happens after the guest leaves.
Repeat visits are the business
Acquisition fills a room once. Repeat visits are what make a restaurant sustainable, and they cost a fraction of what a new guest costs to reach.
Yet most independents have no way to contact the people who already loved the place.
Capture the relationship at booking
The reservation is the natural moment to collect an email or phone number with consent. Do it there rather than trying to retrofit a loyalty scheme later.
Communicate without leaning on discounts
A modest list, contacted well a few times a month, outperforms almost any single paid campaign for filling a quiet week. Tell people what has changed on the menu, what is coming, and what is only happening once.
Discount-led communication trains guests to wait; news-led communication gives them a reason now.
Measure repeat guest share
Track the proportion of covers coming from returning guests alongside average spend per head. When that share rises, everything else β marketing budget, staffing confidence, menu ambition β gets easier.
